To help keep your wreath in perfect condition and protect your door, we’ve put together a few handy tips for hanging it safely and securely.
When positioning your wreath, it’s best to hang it from its copper wire frame rather than balancing it on a hook, as this provides greater stability. Before hanging, check that no foliage, wire, or decorative elements are protruding from the back, as these could scratch the door’s surface. For added protection, consider attaching a soft backing material to the rear of the wreath.
Once you’re confident your wreath is door-friendly, it’s time to choose how you’ll display it. One of the simplest solutions is a wreath door hanger, available in a wide range of styles and colours from most high street retailers.
If your door features a large glazed panel, a suction cup hook can be an excellent alternative. Just make sure the glass is clean before attaching it. This method also creates a neat, polished appearance, as the hook remains hidden behind the wreath.
Alternatively, if your door has a knocker, it can double as a built-in wreath hanger. Simply thread a ribbon through the wreath and secure it around the knocker. Choosing a ribbon that complements your wreath or seasonal colour scheme adds an attractive finishing touch.
