When you’ve got the UK’s best-selling composite door, what do you do? Here at Distinction Doors there was only one answer: make it even better. Nxt-gen represents the results of our work with our partner Nan Ya Plastics. It is a new concept GRP composite door that offers numerous fabricator and homeowner benefits that are unique in the market.

The brief when we started to develop nxt-gen was straightforward. We wanted to deliver something that would drive the industry forward in a way that could add instant value to a fabricator with no disruption to the fabrication set up.

It means that while the six doors in the nxt-gen range represent the best the industry has to offer they also accommodate existing glass sizes and are covered by existing structural and surface warranties so they can fit seamlessly into production lines.

But let’s look at what’s new.

The benefits of nxt-gen to fabricators can be summed up by simply saying cost-saving, time-saving and waste-saving. Door slabs are available in three trimmable sizes to reduce wastage. Fabrication delivers increased tooling yield and reduced machining time and power use thanks to features such as a no cassette design and consistent letterplate positioning across all the door styles. Glazing is easier, as is de-glazing and maintenance, and there’s also a saving on glazing consumables. Finally, a standard colour range that includes Anthracite Grey and Chartwell, brings colour availability into the 21st century.

When it comes to homeowners, the message on nxt-gen is clear: it’s the pedigree of a Distinction door in a new model. They will love the stunning balanced aesthetics and the trademark oak tree woodgrain effect. They will appreciate the exceptional thermal efficiency, sound insulation and weatherproofing. Security is second to none too as nxt-gen doors are PAS24:2016 compliant as standard.

To support installers as they sell Distinction doors into homeowners we have developed a high quality, 64-page brochure with a contemporary look and feel that showcases all nxt-gen and signature doors plus the Distinction Glass product range. Featuring accurate RAL/BS colour chips, beautiful imagery and compelling text, it shows customers the quality and technical excellence that a Distinction composite door offers.

We launched nxt-gen earlier this year and the response was everything we hoped for: fabricators and installers alike could see the ground-breaking advantages the door would give them, not least the real point of difference in the market place thanks to the superior looks. In short, it’s a door that represents the future of the industry and one that will ensure that composite doors remain the UK’s number one choice of entrance door for years to come.
