With over 25 years in the building and associated trades, Dave has brought a wealth of experience to Distinction Doors. Joining Distinction Doors in 2007 as Technical and Research and Development Manager, he has been instrumental in taking Distinction Doors through the quality management systems of IS0 9001 and 2008 and in applying that quality assurance to the company as a whole and the manufacturing unit, specifically.

As a time served joiner who moved into the PVC-u Window and Door industry, he has been able to bring his practical knowledge to bear and has led the company’s foray into manufacturing with the setting up of the lines and the installing of CNC, Edgebanding and the all important extraction system.

Dave’s experience as a Production Supervisor for 9 years and his move into Technical Sales and Support for 6 years, culminated in his reaching a board level position as Operations Director for a PVC-u and composite door manufacturing facility. His experience has allowed Distinction to offer their customers a very high level of technical back up and advice on manufacturing and installation of production lines.

Dennis’ career has spanned 33 years, 16 of which has been within the door industry.

The first 17 years were spent as an underground mechanical fitter in the coal mining industry. After the mines closed, Dennis joined Regency Doors (later to become Premdor), cutting thousands of radial bars before moving on to become CNC Operator and then Machine Shop Manager.

He moved to Panavista when they commenced operations in Barnsley, fabricating steel doors and distributing them around the country, largely for the new build market. Dennis was then asked to join the newly formed Distinction Doors in 2004 where his duties were wide ranging, from warehousing and production duties to the ordering of containers.

As the company grew, so did Dennis’ responsibilities. He is now Operations Manager with responsibility for warehousing and distribution, all stock purchasing, and the day to day running of the factory.
