Chris has held a variety of board level positions over a career spanning some 40 years, specialising in Sales and Marketing.

His career has included a wide variety of activities, from Agricultural Auctioneer to running and presenting the Miss Great Britain contest and from Entertainment, Publicity and Tourism within local and central government to tour operations at both National Holidays and Wallace Arnold Tours where, as Marketing Director, he established them as market leaders, helping to turn the company from losses to sustained profits.

He became involved with the internet and software development in 1998, being a founding shareholder and director in Shopcreator Developments, the ecommerce website building application. He then joined Touch plc with the sales of vertical interest portals and deployment of their geographic network of portals, moving then to the Canadian based Activecore Technologies as Senior Vice President, Europe.

Chris is a presenter and speaker for radio, TV and conferences as well as voiceovers for advertising and videos. He began consultancy work for Distinction Doors in 2006, joining the company in a full time capacity in 2007.

Alan’s career has centred around sales and the all important care of the customer.

He spent 20 years in the retail food industry, with 4 years working for leading supermarket chains including Laws Stores, WM Low and the Co-op. At 20, Alan was the youngest appointed retail manager for the North Eastern Co-operative Group, a role that helped him gain the skills required to set up and run his own retail business for a period of 16 years.

Joining UK Industrial Tapes, the leading distributor of taped adhesives, he became involved with the Glass and Glazing industry with 6 years as a Field Sales Business Account Manager covering the North East and Borders, and latterly the UK and Overseas.

Alan’s duties included working with Distinction Doors and their customer base and he was asked to join Distinction Doors in 2008 to promote Business Development in the North of England and Scotland.

Steve has 31 years experience of manufacturing industries having been at Wilkinsons Furniture, which then became the Carleton Furniture Group.

Steve qualified as a Wood Machinist having served his three years as an Apprentice and continued in this position for 13 years until he was promoted to Production Supervisor, and then to Production Manager some 5 years later. He was responsible for a team of 35 machinists, two Supervisors and two Maintenance Engineers and took responsibility for the Prototype/Specials Department where new products were developed.

Moving to Palgrave Brown as Production Controller, Steve became heavily involved in the manufacture of both Hardwood and GRP doorsets for both the Social Housing and Home Improvement markets.

Steve joined Distinction Doors in 2008 as Sales Administrator and is responsible for liaising between the quickly growing customers for both prepped and prepped and glazed door blanks and the manufacturing unit within Distinction Door Solutions.

After passing her 3 A levels at school, Sarah joined T Mobile as an operator in their call centre, progressing to the position of Team Leader. She then joined Merryweathers, the estate agents and valuers, and her customer relationship experience helped her rise to the position of Assistant in the Commercial and Lettings department.

As Distinction Doors’ business developed Sarah was taken on from an agency to supply administrative back up and, later that year, was asked to join the company on a full time basis as Sales Administrator. Sarah now couples her Sales Administration duties with that of assisting the Operations Manager with the ordering and delivery of containers from Taiwan.
