Distinction Doors Solutions the composite door company

Drew has been involved in the window and door industry in the UK and abroad for over 30 years.

He qualified as a Quantity Surveyor and worked in the construction industry before moving into the hardware business operating, initially, on a freelance basis for the industry's leading manufacturers, selling their window and door products in Scotland.

Drew progressed to setting up his own hardware distribution company in Glasgow to service the burgeoning PVC window and door market in Scotland. He sold that business in 1997, and embarked on a project to find a high quality composite door. This ended by him setting up Distinction Doors in 2004, to distribute the Nan Ya GRP door to the UK door fabrication market.

Dave joined Distinction Doors as General Manager in December 2005.

He spent the previous 15 years working within the fast moving kitchen panel industry in various operational management roles. His main focus was supply chain management and customer service to major retailers throughout the UK and Europe. He gained in depth knowledge of all processes, from sourcing raw materials from around the world to planning and scheduling 24/7 production, through to despatching finished goods to meet very demanding customer needs.

To achieve the high level of service required, Dave used the principals of working with customers to understand their service needs, and to create a sustainable supply chain that delivered each and every time. These same principals are used by the whole team at Distinction Door Solutions, to ensure every customer receives the level of service they both need and deserve.

Dave joined the board of Distinction Doors Ltd in 2009, becoming Commercial Director with responsibility for Sales and Marketing as well as the Production and Manufacturing facility.
